Sr. Java Developer

Our client is a young, rapidly growing company in the healthcare data analytics space and is urgently looking to add 2 full-stack Java Developers to their successful team.

Your responsibilities will include:
l Working with minimal supervision as expected at a senior level
l Full stack Java web development; front end, server side, and database
l Sharing knowledge, mentoring or providing direction for junior staff
l Communicating clearly and effectively with both verbal and written skills
l Collaborating in support of the team goals and environment

You are passionate about software/web development and open to sharing ideas with your teammates. You are quick and eager to learn new technologies with great attention to detail and focus on quality. You appreciate working regular hours (8:30am start) at the company headquarters within walking distance of the metro north station. You've held job titles like Java Engineer, Coder, Programmer, Dev Ops, or Web Design/Development Technician and are up to date on the tools and technologies needed to succeed.
You bring these assets to the team:
l Java / JavaEE / J2EE fluency
l Past participation in the design and development of Web Application based solutions (Jboss/Wildfly)
l Experience with and knowledge of Java design patterns, web services development, and relational databases
l Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Web Service development (WSDL, SOAP, REST)
l Experience with RDMS & NoSQL datastore design and implementation
l Past participation with building applications on one of the MV*/MVC frameworks (Angular / React / Backbone)
l BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields (engineering, math, etc.)
Bonus points if you know about:
l CSS3 / Compass / Sass / LESS,
l HTML5 semantic markup and web standards and CSS3
l Responsive web design using Bootstrap or similar
l Gulp or Grunt automation
l Web Services development
l Spring, Hibernate, Maven
l Agile / Scrum
l Mobile Web development experience (responsive web or adaptive design)
