Description

Our direct client is a fast-growing technology company building highly secure infrastructure/network data security products and systems.

We seek a Linux/Unix systems engineer to work on a number of projects, related to product development. In this role you will gain valuable experience with cutting-edge Linux-based products and appliances, and work with a top-notch technical team.

Responsibilities in this position are varied, including:


Setting up, building, testing and verifying new systems and servers
Troubleshooting the build process, scripts, identifying where processes stop or have issues
Configuring systems to specifications, and configuration management
Checking builds against documentation and testing systems both pre-and post-production
Troubleshooting and solving problems, contributing to improved quality, processes and documentation

Experience Desired:


2+ years with Linux Systems administration
Red Hat Linux
Expertise with Linux and Unix security
Bash and Shell Scripts
Comfortable working with CLI (Command-Line Interface)
A "keen eye" for detail i.e. seeing if a system is built and running to specifications
Log Files - Navigating to, working with and analyzing
Networking and firewall troubleshooting experience

Adaptable, friendly personality able to get along with the technical team and other members of the firm.
Any exposure to Kickstart is a plus
Any exposure to CentOS, embedded Linux, Scientific Linux or OpenSUSE is a plus

All work is in the client sites near Ridgefield, CT and Danbury, CT
