Our direct client, a global firm, a leader in their industry, is expanding their software development teams and seeks several Software Delivery Managers to join their team.  

As part of this expansion we seek both a Senior Software Delivery Manager who will manage other Technical Delivery managers and an entire portfolio of applications.  And, the client is also hiring a Technical Delivery Manager to manage multiple applications efforts within the portfolio.

The positions essentially direct the software delivery efforts, directing the development of custom software in a Microsoft .net/Azure development environment, working in close coordination with global stakeholders, onshore/offshore delivery teams, in a matrixed corporate environment.  

Job Title: Sr Technical Delivery Manager

Duties: Primary Purpose and Goal

Responsible for overall delivery control of many projects within the project timelines and budget. The Senior Delivery Manager owns the solution deliveries, manages Delivery Managers and is ultimately responsible for the delivery of the development, delivery project leadership, management, quality, and timely delivery of the project. Will oversee all delivery associates assigned to a project.

Responsibilities and Tasks

-Capable of liaison and customer management along with our Product Owners
-Knowledge of PMO concepts and project plan technical development
-(for the Sr. Delivery Manager position:  Oversee the entire portfolio of work being performed under Technical Delivery Managers)
-Provide overall development program leadership and direct teams in the delivery of high-quality products within committed timeframes
-Ensure projects are delivered on time and with high quality
-Work with QA to assure project quality and defined measurements of code quality
-Ensure complete understanding of the development estimates and project scopes - work with Delivery Managers to assure development teams deliver projects within the framework of the given estimate and assumptions
-Clear expectations of milestones and goals
-Mentor Delivery Team on IT methodology and drive consistent processes - whether waterfall or agile
-Should have relevant technical experience of the types of products being used: .Net, SharePoint 2013 (2016 is a plus), Microsoft SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Azure


Delivery of project solutions by Delivery Managers, to plan and budget


Skills and knowledge acquired through Development, Technical Lead, or Project Management. The skills to include: Project Management, Agile/SCRUM, SAFE, Change Management, Release Management, Configuration Management, Systems Integration, Systems Development Life Cycle Methodologies, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis and Design

Managed teams in various geographic locations with a proven track record of completing quality projects on time and within budget

Extensive and consistent experience of delivering complex projects throughout lifecycle

Strong understanding of Microsoft products and related technologies;

Project planning and progress monitoring including budget control and milestone control; issue and risk management

Proven track record in coaching and mentoring others to success

Excellent negotiation skills

Ability to anticipate and build contingency plans

Expert problem solving skills

Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism

Ability to multi-task efficiently

Project Management skills including: Estimating, Scope Management, Budget Management, Time Management, Risk Management, Change Management, Issue/Conflict Resolution, Communication Management, Quality Management, Testing Plans, Training Plans, Team Management

Strong coaching, and project management experience

Experience managing teams delivering IT implementations and involving multiple software application integrators

Knowledge of application development and system architecture

Business analysis techniques

Management and Competencies

Experience managing the development, implementation and support of enterprise solutions

Capable of managing internal ITS teams, contractors and onshore / offshore partner resources
Demonstrated experience developing team members and being a role model

Ability to work across business and technical teams

Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and communicate technical information to IT professionals

International experience with the ability to work in a diverse work environment across cultures and time-zones; available to travel (internationally) at short notice and host/attend international calls outside of standard working hours

Effective leadership, interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal)

Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects

Pro-active in pre-empting issues and problems

Good team worker and leader
