Our Direct Client located in Fairfield County has an exciting new need for a Systems Admin to join our clients IT team. Our client offers a very competitive salary and benefits package.
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of server hardware, software, and related infrastructure. They will oversee the deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of all IT infrastructure including network systems projects, maintaining and troubleshooting network equipment (servers, firewalls, routers, switches etc.) and other duties as assigned or required. The Senior Systems Administrator participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation to ensure all systems, applications, and related procedures adhere to company guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to:
•Maintain server environment including virtualization of existing servers (Windows 2008/2012), new servers, migrating servers as needed, as well as application servers such as SQL and Microsoft Exchange.
•Review projects and requests regularly, provide status updates to IT Manager as needed, and schedule work to ensure timely solution to problems and completion of projects.
•Develop software upgrade procedures and methodologies for efficient deployment.
•Maintain documentation and internal knowledge base.
•Manage and support storage network for Breitling USA and Canada.
•Daily backups of server infrastructure on and offsite. Regular checks of restore/DR ability.
•LAN/WAN design, implementation, and support. Work with providers to define and implement WAN connections to all locations. Work with local installers to design and implement local LAN environment at all locations to include cabled and wireless networks. This includes, but is not limited to switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and passive network devices used for failover.
•Monitor equipment, applications, and environmental conditions; initiate and manage corrective action as required.
•Manage and approve updates and/or patches as needed.
•Assist with Microsoft Dynamics GP and RMS support including SQL database management and reporting as required.
•Available for after-hour critical escalations and project work as assigned
•Associate or Bachelor degree in computer science or related discipline preferred
•4+ years of experience in system administration.
•Microsoft system or other related certifications a plus
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work effectively
•Strong follow-up skills
•In depth knowledge of Microsoft Virtualization Technologies.
•Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies. Understanding of network protocols and devices.
•Microsoft System Center and Virtual Machine Manager.
•VEEAM backup and replication.
•Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and maintain strong attention to detail
•Must have a pro-active positive and solution oriented attitude
