DevOps Engineer – Hybrid:  

Our direct client, an alternative investment firm in New York City, is looking for a strong DevOps Engineer. This position can be based in NYC or Chicago, hybrid working model, a few days per week on site is expected. 

Position Responsibilities

Strategic Initiatives

• Implement SDLC (“Software Development Lifecycle”) for all software development
• Establish best practices and tools for developing and testing software
• Establish best practices and tools for production change management
• Establish and manage software development tools and technologies (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git, Visual Studio, Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Create run books, technical documentation, and other materials necessary to maintain our platforms going forward

Development

• Work on new projects requiring software development
• Help development teams with using development and testing methodologies and tools
• Work with data team to help build out the data platform

Documentation and Training

• Create and maintain documentation of platform, processes, best practices, and usage guides
• Provide training and support to developers

Required Background

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: College degree (BA/BS) or higher (or work equivalent)
• 3+ years of experience as a dev ops engineer
• 3+ years of experience programming in Python, Java, or .NET
• 2+ years working with software testing tools and methodologies
• Deep understanding and experience with the SDLC
• Experience designing and managing change management processes
• Experience with Azure DevOps a plus
• 2+ years of experience with SQL
• 1+ years of experience using Web APIs (REST)
• Experience with project management tools and techniques
• Understanding of law or background in the legal industry a plus
• Experience with scripting and coding with Microsoft tools a plus
