Our direct client, a fast-growing FinTech firm, is seeking a highly motivated Disaster Recovery (DR) Manager. In this role, you will develop, implement, and manage IT disaster recovery programs to support firm’s resilience and risk initiatives. This role involves ensuring the continuity of key IT services, minimizing downtime, and conducting DR testing. This position demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to manage complex projects and stakeholder relationships effectively.
This position can be based in midtown Manhattan, 3 days per week onsite is expected. Client offers a very attractive compensation and benefits package, salary ($135-160K, DOE), bonus and stock options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the IT disaster recovery framework.
- Align DR strategies with business impact analysis and risk assessments.
- Plan, set up, test, and maintain IT business continuity and DR policies.
- Develop response strategies for potential failure scenarios.
- Lead DR exercises and ensure the integrity of recovery procedures.
- Maintain a critical assets list and consult with owners to manage DR plans.
- Collaborate with the business continuity management group on DR policy and guidelines.
- Prepare and communicate IT DR key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify and mitigate IT business continuity risks.
- Build positive working relationships with IT colleagues, business stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain business recovery plans and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and analyze the business impact of disruptions.
- Implement best practices for data and system protection.
- Create and conduct practice drills for plan execution.
- Provide staff training on risk management and disaster recovery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in IT disaster recovery.
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in translating business requirements into technical designs.
- Familiarity with methodologies such as Agile (SCRUM, Kanban) and Waterfall.
- Knowledge of DR and business continuity concepts (RTO, RPO, MTPD, BIA).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., EDRP, CDRE, CISA, CISSP) are a plus.
- Experience in the tech industry, financial services, or fintech is preferred.
