HRIS Solutions Architect - SuccessFactors - Long-term Contract - REMOTE

Our direct client, a global firm, is building out a new global HR solution around SAP SuccessFactors and related integrated applications.  
 

The IT HR Solutions Architect will be responsible to define, document, and advocate for the client's HR Systems and processes . This includes SAP SuccessFactors as the HRIS core, plus other SuccessFactors modules, peripheral systems, including Global Payroll systems and Learning/Development Applications. This position would also be responsible to work with other IT functions to craft the company’s reference architecture and structure for leveraging SuccessFactors as the single source of truth for all employees and contractors, which will lead into an Identity and Access Management/Identity Governance Administration Strategy.

  

 

Responsibilities

  • Functionally report to the IT Director, Business Applications and work closely with other IT Functions, the Business Transformation Program, HR Teams, and other related vendors/partners.

 

  • Works with business and IT teams to analyze and define HR business requirements; the Solution Architect is the key contributor in defining solution strategy and design principles, and ensuring the alignment between the business needs and technical solutions
  • Assesses current state of solutions, defines future state needs, identifies gaps, and recommends new technology solutions and strategic business execution improvements
  • Review and redesign the strategic roadmap for Human Resources to enable the HR vision and strategy, align with key business requirements and address current systems gaps
  • Examine and analyse business functional requirements and translate these into systems guidelines and specifications; ensure alignment with enterprise-level systems
    • Provide strategic expertise to staff and management to ensure specifications are aligned to business requirements
  • Serving as a subject matter expert to guide technology strategy for SAP & Non-SAP Hire-to-retire; analyze and solve complex system and technological problems to provide innovative solutions to business requirements
  • Identify potential issues between systems and client specifications and propose new solutions to work around these limitations
  • Interface with Architects, Technical Leads and Developers to drive technical solutions, estimate work efforts, define milestones, and provide hands on technical leadership
  • Communicate directly with enterprise architects, developers, and vendors to develop and implement specific aspects of the software solution
    • Provide expert advice on changes to the solution design to ensure the system design remains robust, fit for purpose, and meets requirements
    • Highlights short-term trade-offs vs long-term commitments and where those are worth implementing or not. Ensures that the solutions are scalable (technology), efficient (process), effective (cost), and supportable
    • Conduct solution architecture research, market assessment and facilitating solution application selections and experiments / pilots
  • Complete system architecture and design specifications and associated documentation in compliance with relevant standards; defining and advocating software architecture standards and best practices
  • Work with business and IT teams to understand the needs for complex data/BI models (that leverage statistics, time series, machine learning, textual analysis, prediction, etc.), define prototypes, collect/curate large data sets, Implement/evaluate/tune data models and drive valuable insights through iteration
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions, particularly in the area of functional and solution responsibility relating to this team, and the ability to apply this knowledge in such activities as architecture and design, business analysis, solution configuration, second level support, and implementation of solution change control processes and project activities
  • Remains unbiased toward any specific vendor or technology choice; is more interested in solving the business problem than the technology itself
  • Liaise, consult, and negotiate effectively with team members, other project teams, stakeholders, and client groups to develop and maintain effective working relationships and the integrity of the overall integrated solution; and
  • Contribute to effective, client focused teamwork by developing an understanding of the roles and duties of team members within the team and across the department and working collaboratively to achieve outcomes with a commitment to quality and customer service
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work across organizations and building partnerships
  • Demonstrated effective oral, written, public, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Sound and mature business judgment capable of contributing on a broad range of topics, not just technology issues
  • Possess excellent problem-solving attitude, and ability to quickly change direction based on updated client specifications or system limitations
  • Ability to lead, manage, and supervise team leaders in supervising and assisting other team members to deliver effective services

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

A candidate that we would love would have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or Engineering (highly desirable)
  • SAP HR, SuccessFactors Experience
  • Minimum of 15 years’ working experience
  • Previous experience on global transformation programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a unified program environment consisting of many 3rd parties’ consultants and owners team representatives (i.e., ability to fit into a team environment)
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge of modern architecture practices
