IT Project Manager – Long-term Contract – Remote

For our direct client, a global firm, we seek an experienced IT Project Managers for immediate placement.   This position will be involved with full-life-cycle of new projects from Project Charter, Scope & Approach, managing budgets and technology spend, and managing and reporting project status to all levels of management.    Immediate interview and hire, these positions are 100% remote.  
 

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Oversees, develops, or manages project and program operating costs, requests budget allocation and reallocations, ensures project and program is within budget
  • Enablement and support of program strategies and objectives by diligently oversight of project schedules and ensure mitigating strategies or contingencies are appropriately applied to anticipated risks and when issues arise
  • Establish positive and collaborative relationships with customer base. Demonstrate a clear understanding of both customer’s business and works collaborative to successfully delivery value.
  • Assess program / project performance and support of GPMO best practices and established portfolio standards and guidelines by ensuring projects are on time on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Organization and monitoring of inter-connected projects by the planning the overall program roadmap and monitoring progress
  • Develop, implement, and maintain method artifacts: samples, leading practices, techniques, guidelines, etc.; populate/update a methods knowledgebase
  • Assist in development of process to track, monitors and report on resource and capacity management conflicts and demands to support PMO leadership
  • Participates in Portfolio Management meetings to gain knowledge of future pipeline work and early earmarking demand for future project managers.

Years of experience:

  • Minimum of 4

 

Certification:

  • PMP and Scrum certified or comprehensive experience desired, but not mandatory

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in project management disciplines, with experience planning and executing projects and programs. Strong experience managing both IT and Business projects preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in organizing, prioritizing, planning, and executing projects from definition through implementation, involving internal personnel and third-party contractors
  • Requires excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with project team members, project sponsors, functional leads, and senior management in a matrixed environment
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate
  • Drive and demonstrated success working independently in a virtual environment
  • Capable of strategic thinking and of moving strategic plans into action
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Education:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university
