Position Title: Lead Transition Architect

Position Overview

We have an urgent long term consulting opportunity  with a global client of ours.  Successful candidates must reside in either the Eastern or Central time zone. This job is remote. This a key role responsible for designing the transition from our client's  current systems to the future state. The client has a complex current state landscape of systems. It is the responsibility of the Legacy Architect to compile the baseline state drawing on analysis work done by other Architects and Business Analysts into a format useful for developing transition architectures. building and leading the Enterprise Architecture function across the client. This is a strategic position critical to driving Digitalization at the company and contributing to the Architecture function within the Business Transformation Program which is pivotal to the business strategy.  The candidate will report to the Enterprise Architecture Office Lead who has overall accountability for developing Enterprise Architecture capabilities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Report to Enterprise Architecture Office Lead collaborating across Business Support Functions, Manufacturing and Mining Operations covering both IT and OT Solutions
  • Lead compiling all baseline information relating to current application and processes based on current state analysis done by others
  • Assist other Solutions Architects and Business Analysts in creating current state architectures in accordance with Enterprise Architecture Standards.
  • Guide and produce Architectural artefacts for all IT initiatives outside of the project scope
  • Assist in development of all Architecture material required for the Architecture Review Board (related to IT initiatives outside of the project scope.
  • Work the existing IT teams and Application Architect to develop transition plans from legacy solutions
  • Contribute to the development of Business Transformation Program work package scoping, prioritization and planning ensuring optimized transition from current state Application Architecture
  • As needed participate in the assessment of application alternatives through RFP process
  • As needed assist in QA reviews of the ARB (Architecture Review Board) submissions and ensure compliance to Reference Architecture standards


Skills and Qualifications

A candidate that we would love would be:

  • 10+ years’ experience as Solution Architect having successfully delivered a variety of solutions in Chemicals, Mining and/or manufacturing industries
  • A broad understanding of ERP and MES solutions as they relate to Mining/Manufacturing Operations, Finance, HR, Supply Chain and Maintenance
  • Strong business process / Business Architecture experience with ability to correlate business process needs to Application Architectures
  • Understanding of ISA-95 framework and sound knowledge of all levels with clear understanding of integrations across these levels
