MS Azure DevOps Sr. Analyst

The Azure Solution Engineer will take responsibility for driving the technical requirements and design of Azure workloads to align with project and product expectations, effectively manage capacity and long-term costs.  The Engineer will bring an understanding of virtualization, networking, storage, processing, identity, security, backup and recovery, data management, budget and planning, and governance.

This position will start as a contract position and can either continue as long-term contract, or convert to F/T later on (no sponsorship offered for F/T).   Hybrid work environment – must be able to work in Poughkeepsie, NY office occasionally. 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Building and configuring Azure infrastructure to meet the company’s needs while leveraging Azure templates and DevOps tooling
  • Assessing Azure workloads currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve
  • Provide Engineer and process support to other teams, driving adoption of standard and DevOps methodologies
  • Resolve technical problems as they arise
  • Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes to platforms and standards as required
  • Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented
  • Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have
  • Providing updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets
  • Development of SMART metrics to assess project business value post go-live and ensure platform is performing as expected
  • Develop and execute solutions which reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work

Desired Experience and Skills:

3+ years Azure Infrastructure experience including hands-on experience in ARM/Terraform (IAC) deployments. Prefer exposure to Azure VDI/Azure Data Lake

  • Optimize and automate existing processes

 

  • Demonstrated experience working in a small team, with ability to make a strong, hands on contribution is essential
  • A strong understanding of ITIL best practice service delivery is essential
  • Proven experience in system analysis and design both cloud and on-prem 
  • Understanding of common scripting languages (PowerShell, BASH etc.)
  • Knowledge of various operating systems, databases and private/public cloud environments
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical skills and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including stakeholder management, training, presentation and public speaking
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organizational priorities, technology and processes
