Network Engineer / Infrastructure Lead 

Our local client in seeking a Network Engineer to join its operations at corporate headquarters in Stamford, CT. Candidates best suited for this role would have an accomplished understanding of network infrastructure, devices, and support/maintenance protocols. This role will perform a variety of tasks involved in network administration, SAAS liaison, data protection and security, as well as, end user education and support. In this role you will

  • Design, configure, deploy and support network connections, hardware, software, and services while ensuring redundancy and reliability of the overall infrastructure environment.  
  • Implement and administer network infrastructure devices, inclusive to wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, and controllers.
  • Allocate network resources, monitor network performance and usage, and ensures the most cost effective and efficient use of network resources.
  • Serve as liaison and manage SAAS and Cloud-based service provider relationships, particularly during periods of system implementation and configuration support.
  • Advise the business on ongoing network and/or system requirements.
  • Develop network and security documentation, including diagrams and work instructions.
  • Ensure system security through endpoint management, including MDM and antivirus.
  • Monitor and maintain on-site and off-site back-up protocols.
  • Support end users and ticketing systems.

Successful candidates may have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in network engineering and support maintenance.
  • Proficient familiarity with:
    •  TCP/IP v4 Protocol, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, and HTTP
    • Windows Server 2008R2 to Server 2016
    • MS SQL and Exchange Servers
    • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PowerShell
    • TCP/IP v4 protocol, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP and HTTPS
  • Telecommunication orientation and vendor management for Avaya IP Office.
  • Comfort working with a limited staff and managing vendor relationships.
  • Ability to work across multiple remote sites with the available for limited travel as needed.
