A leading company in travel and foreign exchange is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior WordPress Engineer/Architect. This individual will play a pivotal role in their IT team, collaborating closely with the marketing department to drive the evolution of their marketing technology infrastructure. As they transition towards greater in-house expertise, this role will take charge of designing and enhancing the architecture of their WordPress-based websites, ensuring scalability, stability, and seamless integration with their existing systems.

This is a hybrid position that requires two days in Stamford, CT office.

Responsibilities:
– Serve as the primary point of contact for marketing technology, working closely with the marketing team to understand their requirements, challenges, and objectives.
– Lead the design and implementation of the infrastructure for WordPress-based websites, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
– Collaborate with the business to identify and prioritize enhancements for our websites, leveraging your technical expertise to implement solutions that meet marketing objectives.
– Provide leadership and mentorship to junior WordPress developers, elevating the skill level and expertise of the team.
– Work with our existing systems, including CRM (HubSpot), WordPress, PHP, and MySQL, to streamline integration and enhance functionality.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment and successful execution of projects.
– Take ownership of stabilizing and enhancing specific websites, such as the study abroad website, by addressing issues, implementing improvements, and optimizing integrations.
– Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to WordPress development and marketing technology.

Qualifications and Skills:
– Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in WordPress development, with a strong emphasis on PHP programming and MySQL.
–Expert knowledge of SASS, BEM library development, Mixins, and CSS custom properties 
–Ability to work within custom theme and plugin development and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
-Developing and maintaining a custom WordPress Multisite theme
-Integration of WordPress with a variety of 3rd party APIs
-Knowledge custom WordPress plugins developed in React
-Experience working with Rest API
-Knowledge in CI/CD pipeline setup to WPEngine servers and deployment procedures using Buddy
-Experience with front-end build tools (Gulp & Webpack).
– Proven experience designing and implementing complex WordPress-based websites, with a focus on    scalability, stability, and performance optimization.
– Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers.
– Solid understanding of marketing technology and its integration with business objectives, with experience working closely with marketing teams.
– Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
– A proactive, results-driven approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet business needs.
