Software Release / Technical Documentation Manager- Long-term Contract – Hybrid

For our direct client in Northern New Jersey, a prestigious global firm, we seek an experienced professional with strong document management and writing/editing experience for a 6-mo+ consulting assignment, with possible extension beyond.  

In this role, the responsibilities include:  

  • Software Release management activities
  • Development and publication of release material which includes a broad spectrum of content and intended target audience:
  • Product release materials (deployment teams) Installation and related technical specifications (IT teams)
  • Validation and testing materials (deployment teams)
  • Operations and support guidance (deployment and central support teams)
  • Delivered in multiple formats (e.g., written (multiple formats and structures), video, etc.)

 
Specific job duties include accountability for:

  • End to end preparation of relevant product release materials including release summaries, release messages and relevant product websites
  • Design and continuously improvement of the release materials process and framework required to enable release materials planning and delivery
  • Developing and maintaining strong subject matter understanding of the products in client's application portfolio
  • Engaging with documentation owners and guidance professionals to drive design, development and packaging of required product publications, aligned and integrated within the overall product release cycle and schedule for a given release milestone.
  • Managing the gathering of release materials and documentation scope (Baseline) – for each release milestone
  • Leading the solicitation of inputs for key deliverable-level planning details (i.e., deliverables by category including, owner, action, completion / publish timing, format, resource requirements etc.)

 
Desired Skills: 

  • Working with preparation of technical documentation– focused on technology application product documentation / content management experience
  • Project management
  • Strong skills Using Microsoft Office product suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio) and project management tools
  • Working with Microsoft SharePoint document management system and Microsoft Teams collaboration

Hybrid schedule:  Please note the consultant will be work onsite in the Montvale NJ  office on a hybrid basis (Tues through Thurs in office, can work from home Mon & Fri).
