Systems Administrator
Position Summary:
Our Client is looking for a Systems Administrator. Under the direction and supervision of the Vice President, Information Systems & Compliance, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for supporting and maintaining core systems ensuring continuous secure operations across their organizations. Cybersecurity is key in day-to-day operations. The Systems Administrator should have a good understanding of the importance of cybersecurity and its role in the companies. Day-to-day, the Systems Administrator will provide hands-on and/or remote support and assistance to end users and participate in the research, recommendation and implementation of solutions that drive overall IT strategy, compliance, and plans.
This is an on-site position near Hamden Connecticut, 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Provide all tiers of support
- Troubleshoot and identify root cause(s), providing support and develop solutions to decrease reoccurrence
- Ensure that all system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to ongoing compliance with current cyber-security standards (e.g. NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0)
- Maintain essential IT operations and installation of operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, software, and hardware.
- Participate in the planning, architecture of new server environments, storage and data management, and application deployment
- Proactively ensure quality of service across our network, detect and manage any abnormalities or inconsistencies and providing regular status reports and updates for services
- Troubleshoots network performance issues.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Stay up to date in changing threats
- Analyzing system logs to identifying potential issues with computer systems
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer-centric, or related field
- Working knowledge of current cyber-security standards (e.g. CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001 or 27002)
- Proven track record with minimum 3 years of similar work experience
- Cybersecurity: Knowledge of standards (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0); CISSP certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Hyper-V, and Microsoft 365; basic Cisco operation knowledge; backup and recovery models.
Troubleshooting: Proven ability to resolve network and systems issues. - Project Management: Ability to support multiple concurrent projects.
Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills.
