Systems Engineer:

Our direct client, a global transportation firm, is looking for someone to provide technical engineering in enterprise project initiatives, as well as ongoing technical guidance and implementation of initiatives. Play a key role in transitioning new and newly implemented technology support and operation from Architecture Team to one of the IT Operations Teams or operational service providers.

Responsibilities
 

• Provide expertise and technical guidance in infrastructure projects, including solution design, project planning, capacity planning, software upgrades, and implementation of new technologies
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new products and technologies; participate in proof-of-concept trials to determine business case and planning criteria for new investments
• Act as a technical resource for the implementation of upgrades and enhancements to the existing environment
• Produce comprehensive system documentation relating to implementations and support related projects and tasks
• Provide education to internal IT teams and operational service providers when implementing technology new to the firm
• Provide input to resource planning, cost estimations, budget development and cost control
• Interact with business and IT resources to establish implementation plans, goals, and guidelines

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, degree in computer science or related field preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in an IT engineering or architecture practice
• In depth understanding of cybersecurity concepts required
• Experience with scripting technologies for deployment purposes
• In depth knowledge and extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying, and administering the following technologies:
  • Cloud Compute Technologies:
    • AWS
    • Azure
    • DaaS/VDI
    • PaaS/SaaS technology
  • Windows OS & Back Office:
    • Microsoft Windows 2016/2019, Failover Clustering, DFS, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, PowerShell, SCCM, SQL Server 2016/2017/2019, Intune
    • Email/Mobile/Unified Communications & Collaboration:
  • Application & Server Virtualization:
    • VMWare vSphere 6.x Enterprise Plus, vCenter, DRS, HA, Host Profiles, Horizon View, SRM
    • Acropolis Hypervisor
    • Hyper-V
  • Certification in Azure Administrator or Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, preferred
  • Basic Understanding of Networking Concepts is required. Experience with the following is a plus:
    • F5 LTM/GTM , Cisco ASA Firewalls , Cisco 9K , Cisco ACI
  • Experience with on premise to cloud security, migration, and knowledge of cloud native tools a plus

Special Demands

This position requires occasional domestic travel for training, project initiation and system implementation.
