Overcoming Career Obstacles watch video button

Details

Career setbacks come in many forms — you're passed over for a promotion, a major project implodes, you're officially reprimanded, or worse, you're flat-out fired. For most IT professionals, it's not a matter of if there will be a setback, but when and how often your career suddenly shifts into reverse.

If that’s not enough, the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent recession have created a wave of layoffs and furloughs, heightened uncertainty and re-assessment, and widespread job insecurity across the Tri-State area.

Join Women with WITS on June 17, for an informative and interactive Meetup about Overcoming Career Obstacles. Anne LaPerla, Senior Program Manager, Information Security at Gartner, will share her own story about overcoming career obstacles in her early tech career, and how she made the most of a bad situation. Then, we'll break out into smaller groups where participants can share specific stories and questions about their career setbacks and find solutions to their career obstacles.
