Senior Software Engineer – C# / AI / Azure – Long-term Contract – Remote

For our direct client, a prestigious global firm, we  are seeking a highly capable Senior Software Engineer who thrives in complex environments and enjoys solving challenging technical problems across the full software lifecycle.  this is a long-term (12 mo +) contract position which can be done remotely in the US on East Coast hours.     There is potential for contract-to-hire long-term if mutually desired, but no visa sponsorship is available for the conversion to full-time.   But “contract-only” is OK as well.  

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong technical fundamentals, broad hands-on experience, and the ability to adapt quickly as technologies, platforms, and business needs evolve. More important than expertise in any single tool is the ability to think architecturally, build scalable solutions, and apply sound engineering principles across systems and teams.

What You’ll Do

Design, build, and deliver scalable software solutions across backend, frontend, cloud, and infrastructure environments

• Make deliberate use of AI tooling throughout your development workflow, and help raise the standard for how the wider team works with AI.

• Bring engineering rigor to every layer of the stack: infrastructure, backend services, APIs, front-end experiences, pipelines, and automation.

• Write code that is production-ready from the start — tested, documented, observable, and maintainable.

• Mentor and influence peers through code review, pair programming, technical documentation, and architectural input.

• Contribute to architecture, platform, and tooling decisions

• Develop clean, maintainable, production-ready code with strong testing and observability practices

• Build and support APIs, integrations, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native solutions

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact technology solutions

• Mentor peers through code reviews, technical guidance, and best practices

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency and quality

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade software solutions
• Deep, practical integration of AI into the development workflow (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Github, Agents, RAG).

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, application architecture, and integration patterns

• Experience with modern engineering practices including testing, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud platforms

• Ability to work across multiple technologies and adapt quickly to new tools and frameworks

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset
