Data and BI Analyst – Hybrid:

Our direct client, a fast-growing FinTech firm in New York City, is looking for Data and BI Analyst (2 open positions). You will oversee and conduct the conversion of data into insights that will lead to informed business decisions. You will work directly with stakeholders and business teams according to each assigned project. You should have a curious nature, a passion for digging deeper into the data of an organization and have a knack for translating and telling the story of the insights that the data provides.  This role is responsible for implementing business intelligence and operational reporting across the firm.

3 days onsite work in the NYC midtown office is required.  Base salary is in the $110-150K range DOE, plus generous bonus and stock options. 

Responsibilities:

• Developing business requirements: Work with end-users and organizational stakeholders to develop business requirements for BI solutions. This includes understanding business needs, identifying data sources, and developing data models that meet business requirements. Work closely with the organization’s data analytics and reporting to empower teams and influence business decisions.
• Work closely with our Finance, Sales, Product, Architecture, Engineering, and other business units across the firm to:
• Develop an understanding of and work to enhance our evolving data model.
• Gather requirements, design solutions and implement new reporting solutions.
• Partner with the head of business intelligence and others across the firm to:
• Continuously expand the use of data driven analytics.
• Further systematize the Business Intelligence process.
• Expand the self-service Business Intelligence and Reporting capabilities to additional areas of the firm. 

 
Qualifications 

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
• Detail-oriented, naturally curious, and willing to question the status quo to understand business needs
• Proactive, autonomous, and be able to recognize when help is needed 
• Experience with gathering requirements and implementing solutions in a systematic way
• Intermediate SQL competency
• 3-10 years’ experience using Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau is a plus)
• Strong communications skills and the ability to liaise between senior business and technical engineering professionals
• Understanding and experience with data modeling, relational databases, conceptual and physical data models
• Familiar with core data governance principles, data stewardship, traceability, lineage
• Project management experience is a plus
• Prior experience in the financial services domain is a plus
• Familiar with Machine Learning and Large Language Models is a plus
• Technical degree background (math, computer science, engineering, management information systems) is a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5+ years of previous work experience in a data related role?
