Senior Excel Programmer (Contract)**

**Location:** Remote

**Duration:** 9 Months with a possibility of extension

**Role Overview:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Excel Programmer to join our client's team on a contract basis. This individual will play a pivotal role in developing sophisticated Excel add-ins, enhancing Excel-based tools, and creating dynamic Power BI reports. Working closely with actuaries, the consultant will gather requirements and deliver solutions that effectively meet the business needs.

**Key Responsibilities:**
– Develop and maintain advanced Excel add-ins and applications to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
– Collaborate with actuaries to understand their requirements and translate them into robust Excel and Power BI solutions.
– Design and implement Power BI reports and dashboards that provide insightful analytics and business intelligence.
– Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used in Excel models and Power BI reports.
– Provide technical guidance and support to actuarial teams, enhancing their ability to leverage Excel and Power BI tools.
– Stay abreast of the latest developments in Excel programming and Power BI reporting to continually and proactively bring innovative ideas and improvements.

**Qualifications:**
– Proven experience as an Excel Programmer, with significant expertise in developing Excel add-ins and applications.

  • VBA programming
  • VBA/COM  Addins
  • Experience gathering data from SQL server databases to be consumed on Excel forms / pages
    (not limited to VBA-only approach)

  • Experience publishing data from Excel to SQL server databases
    (not limited to VBA-only approach)

  • SQL server programming skills T-SQL
    • Stored Procedures
    • Queries
    • Views
    • Triggers

– Strong background in data analysis and visualization, with expert-level skills in Power BI.
– Excellent understanding of the insurance industry, preferably with direct experience working alongside actuaries.
– Ability to translate complex business requirements into effective and efficient technical solutions.
– Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
